Martin Sr. Engineering Research and Innovation Complex nd they were briefed on the collaboration between the City of Greensboro, NCA&T, and the CR2C2 Center, highlighting past and ongoing projects.

The presentation showcased N.C. A&T's research innovations and technology transfer activities, particularly the successful Aggie Auto pilot program launched in October 2023. This program demonstrated the role university researchers can play in contributing to the smart city vision of Greensboro, and how similar collaborations could benefit a forward-thinking city like Raleigh.

The importance of a collaborative approach was emphasized, involving various stakeholders such as the City of Greensboro, Downtown Greensboro, community leaders, local business owners, the Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum, and the Greensboro Police and Fire Departments.

The visit concluded with a visit to the autonomous transportation technology developed for the Aggie Autonomous Vehicles fleet at NCA&T's Gateway Research Park's north campus. Attendees experienced the potential of autonomous vehicles by riding the autonomous shuttles on a rural test track, which allows researchers to test vehicles in real-world scenarios on a rural route.
