Summer High School Transportation Institute (STI)
CR2C2 supports the Summer High School Transportation Institute (STI) which is an enriching educational opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors. Since its first STI program in 1993, NCAT’s Transportation Institute has introduced hundreds of high school students to careers and academic pursuits in transportation. Many individuals have gone on to have successful careers with Fortune 500 companies and government entities. As the oldest National Summer Transportation Institute program in the nation, NCAT is proud to have earned a reputation for offering an exceptional quality educational experience.
A typical summer schedule includes classroom lectures by private business and education professionals, local and out-of-town field trips, group projects, SAT preparation, personal development activities and a Toastmasters' participation.

In July 2023, CR2C2 supported the Summer Transportation Institute and hosted a record 20 participants. The participants were rising juniors and seniors hailing from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, New York, Texas, Maryland, and Virginia. These high-achieving students were selected based on their interest in STEM/Transportation, recommendation letters, their engagement with extra-curricular and community, and their academic performance.
